Members of the public and representatives of senior advocacy and services organizations meet monthly to discuss, develop, and implement strategies consistent with the YHAA Strategic Plan that advance policies, programs and projects promoting the well-being of older adults and caregivers in Yolo County.
Current policy priority areas:
- Alzheimer’s and dementia education, care, and services
- Affordable and accessible housing
- Advance care planning and long term care financing
- Increasing adult day services
- Rural services and supports
The Advocacy Committee meets the first Thursday of every month, 10:30am-noon at 600 A Street, Room 101, Davis, CA. Members of the public are welcome. To be added to the Advocacy Committee agenda email list contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
California Master Plan for Aging
On June 10, 2019, Governor Gavin Newsom issued an Executive Order directing the development of a Master Plan for Aging. The Executive Order directs the Secretary of the Health and Human Services (HHS) Agency to convene a cabinet-level workgroup for Aging to advise the Secretary in developing and issuing the Master Plan. It also directs HHS to convene a Master Plan for Aging Stakeholder Advisory Committee, which will include a Research Subcommittee and a Long-Term Care Subcommittee.
